Sound But Not A Word

Sound but not a word is a project that positions itself in between text and sound.
With closed captions from film as material, the different iterations of the project experiments with how sound can (or cannot) be mediated through text in differnt ways.

Three different iterations of the project has as of yet been made. A film, a sound installation and a performance. Sound but not a word is an ongoing project and other iterations of it could manifest in the future.
The different iterations are made to be separate entities. They are different aspects of the project and through their manifestation they point to different qualities of different materialities and ways of mediating.

The project has been shown as a video, sound installation and performed live.
Sound and video excerpts below.

SOUND BUT NOT A WORD was shown in the group exhibion Future Watch
at Galleri 3, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Stockholm in 2021.
The exhibition was curated by C-Print Journal.
